Amazon Teamsters in San Francisco demand contract negotiations
Nov. 5, 2024  | Amazon Teamsters at the DCK6 warehouse in San Francisco are demanding that Amazon bargain a union contract and are calling on the e-commerce giant to stop violating labor laws and recognize their union rights. The workers are organizing with the support of Teamsters Joint Council 7 and Local 2785. They delivered their bargaining demand in a march on management this morning. Amazon is legally obligated to bargain because the company did not contest that a majority of workers support a union within the legally mandated two-week period, following the workers’ October 2 demand for union recognition.

Nearly 10,000 Michigan nurses vote to join the Teamsters
Nov. 18, 2024  | Nearly 10,000 registered nurses at Corewell Health in Michigan have voted to join the Teamsters union. Teamsters announced the vote Friday afternoon. A total of 9,600 nurses at nine different hospitals voted. It was one of the largest National Labor Relations Board elections in almost 20 years. “Despite Corewell waging one of the most expensive and aggressive union-busting campaigns we’ve ever seen, these nurses knew their value and were determined to become Teamsters,” said Teamsters General President Sean M. O’Brien in a written statement. “Corewell nurses chose the Teamsters because they knew it was the only way to secure a strong union contract. This organizing win is exactly what we mean when we say we are building the biggest, fastest, and strongest Teamsters Union.” WILX 10
