Martin Luther King Jr. leads a march of striking sanitation workers, members of AFSCME Local 1733, in Memphis, Tenn. Violence during the march persuades him to return the following week to Memphis, where he was assassinated.

Teamsters Union Opposes Nomination of Corporate Attorney as NLRB General Counsel

Mar. 26, 2024 | WORKERS’ RIGHTS | The Teamsters oppose the recent nomination of union-busting attorney Crystal Carey to serve as the next general counsel of the National Labor Relations Board. Carey is a partner at Morgan Lewis, one of the most notorious union-busting law firms in America. Representing mega-corporations like Amazon and Apple, she spearheaded efforts to gut workers’ rights across the country, including by urging the Supreme Court to declare the NLRB unconstitutional. “Why should someone who actively believes the NLRB is unconstitutional be allowed to serve as its general counsel?” Teamsters General President Sean M.
